U8: Stretton Eagles 0-4 Uttoxeter Juniors
Well the end of the season has come and this was our last match against a hard and well organised Uttoxeter Juniors side.
The game kicked off in glorious sunshine and the lads looked tired and weary from a hard tough first season, we looked sluggish all over the pitch but still continued to try to play football and we gave as good as we got until the opposition took the lead and the heads really dropped from then on we were never in the contest and at half time it was 2 – 0 to Uttoxeter.
The second half continued in the same fashion and Uttoxeter scored two more goals to make the final score 4 – 0 (we did up our game a little bit in the second half but could not find a breakthrough despite a couple of excellent chances).
Overall we didnt do too bad in our first season and I would like to thank all the boys for their efforts and commitment throughout the season, I would say we have finished somewhere near the top half of the table and should all be proud of what we achieved.
Also a big thanks to all the parents for their support (sometimes a bit over zealous!) and encouragement.
