Coach’s Pledge

As a coach of Stretton Eagles Junior Football Club I pledge to:

  • Make the health and safety of all participants my number one responsibility. I will never place the value of winning over the safety and welfare of the players.
  • Support and display a positive attitude toward all players and parents at all times, both on and off the field.
  • RESPECT the opponent players, coaches, supporters and game officials at all times. NEVER question the referee’s decision.
  • Be prompt and at the field before the scheduled practice time.
  • End practice promptly at the designated time, showing respect for parents and family responsibilities.
  • Give parents/carers as much notice as possible of any changes in arrangements (day, time or location).
  • Be a positive role model and set the standard for sportsmanship.
  • Keep the sport in proper perspective with each player other responsibilities: family, school, church, other sports etc.
  • Develop each player’s appreciation for the game. Players will have fun and receive positive, constructive feedback.
  • Attend the Club quarterly meetings.

As a coach of Stretton Eagles Junior Football Club I agree to these guidelines.

Expectations

Any coach who is ejected from the game by the referee will remove him or herself from the sidelines/playing area immediately. He/she will be banned from attending or coaching the next scheduled game and can be banned for longer if so determined by an inquiry of the Stretton Eagles Junior Football Club Committee. The same shall apply to any coach who is abusive of referees, opponent coaches or players.

Poor refereeing will be addressed by the team manager using the official match sheet incorporating the referees score card with a covering letter where appropriate. Any other course of redress is totally unacceptable and will lead to immediate suspension of Club membership. Termination of Club membership is possible if so determined by an inquiry by Stretton Eagles Junior Football Club Committee.
